Understanding the Forex markets open and close times is crucial for any Forex trading strategy and EA​


Market Hours

At IV Brokers the Forex Markets opens at 22:00 GMT on Sunday and closes 22:00 GMT on Friday of each week. These times are considered to be the industry standard market times.
Market Time Changes

The IV Brokers market times are based on British times and therefore during British Summer Time (March through October) the market watch time is based on BST.
During British daylight savings times (October through March), the market watch time is based on GMT.

Weekends, Holidays & Rollovers

During holidays, weekends and rollover times, liquidity in the markets can become thinner leading to abnormal market conditions and pricing may become less favourable. This is because there are fewer counterparties in the market willing to trade at lower prices.
Gaps during weekends and holidays are normal and trades will be executed at the new price once the market reopens. As a transparent Forex broker, we highly recommend that all clients are familiar with how these market conditions can affect trading.
