In today’s article, however, we are going to introduce the very best forex traders on the planet to hopefully gain some insight into the methods and principles behind their success.
Rather than looking at traders who are simply a successful, today we are focusing on the true elite of the field and those who have proven themselves to be timeless masters of currency trading.

George Soros is perhaps the most immediately recognizable name in today’s list, which is hardly surprising considering the various records he has broken in the world of finance.
Known by many as the man who broke the Bank of England, Soros is famous for having made $1 billion in a single day from just one transaction. He also managed to transfer more than $10 billion worth of GBP out of Britain during the same period.
George Soros is also very well-known for the many books he has written on the subject of trading and investment.
Throughout his career he has gained the reputation of being quite the philanthropist by donating more than $7 billion of his fortune to various charities.
No list of successful traders would be complete without paying lip service to this world renowned graduate of the London School of Economics, so who better to kick off today’s article than the incredible George Soros!
2. Bill Lipschutz
Bill Lipschutz is another name that many of you will recognise.
As a graduate of Cornell College, Lipschutz earned his B.A. in Fine Arts before moving on to a Masters degree in Finance in 1982. It wasn’t long before he became an avid student and enthusiast of the world of finance.
During his time at Cornell, Lipschutz invested approximately $12,000 into the stock market. Within just a couple of months he had managed to transform this relatively meagre amount into a whopping $250,000.
His talent for investment quickly became apparent; however, much of this early success was owed to his digestion of a great deal of literature and an in-depth understanding of the markets.
Despite his thirst for knowledge and passion for the stock market, Bill Lipschutz quickly lost much of the money made during his time at Cornell due to factors such as market volatility.
It is perhaps at this point that Lipschutz found his true calling in the world of Forex. He found the Forex market to be a far more stable and overall suitable form of trading, leading to many years of success and the fortune that he has now amassed
While many traders post consistent losses on the Forex market, Lipschutz is known to have made as much as $300 million within a single year just from trading in foreign currency.
3. Andrew Krieger
Andrew “Andy” Krieger is known for making billions of dollars as a result of issuing large selling orders against the New Zealand dollar.
These orders were above and beyond what New Zealand was able to supply, resulting in a substantial profit.
After graduating from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania, Krieger worked for Bankers Trust, where the Kiwi transaction we just mentioned netted the organization $300 million in revenue.
This was achieved by selling the New Zealand dollar between the values of $600 million and $1 billion – exceeding the money supply in circulation in actuality at the time.
In 1988 he moved from Bankers Trust to further his career at George Soros’ Soros Management Fund. After this he moved to Northbridge Capital Management.
Krieger is another top Forex trader who is well-known for his work in the field of philanthropy.
In 2004 he contributed more than $350,000 to the tsunami relief fund, and his charitable work continues today.
4. John R. Taylor, Jr.
John R. Taylor, Jr. is a graduate of Princeton University who began his career within the finance sector as a political analyst for Chemical Bank.
Here he created Chemical Bank’s Foreign Exchange Advisory Service in 1972.
After one year of working in this position Taylor took on that the role as Forex analyst for Chemical Bank which enabled him to greatly expand his network as well as honing his skills and expanding his knowledge of the markets.

With more than three decades of experience in the world of finance, John R. Taylor, Jr. is now the chairman and founder of the highly successful broker FX Concepts, LLC.
He continues to be a highly active member of the Forex community, providing analytical input on a daily basis, as well as speaking at public events and publishing various articles both in print and online.
5. Bruce Kovner
Bruce Kovner is the founder of Caxton Associates, which has become one of the top 10 most successful hedge fund is in the world.
This fund has an income of approximately $14 billion, with Kovner himself making an annual profit of around $4.5 billion.
Kovner spent much of his early days trading in forex, with his investment strategies known to be very up to date and always relevant to the current market climate.
Before establishing Caxton Associates, he worked as a trader working under Michael Marcus at Commodities Corporation, which eventually became part of Goldman Sachs.
Kovner made millions of dollars in this role due to his ability to trade in a calculated and ‘sober’ manner.
Although his name may not be instantly recognizable to individual outside of the finance sector, he has made many charitable donations, including a $20 million contribution to Juilliard School in 2012. This contribution helped to bolster the school’s graduate program in historical performance.
Also founded the School Choice Scholarships Foundation, which awarded scholarships to young people in New York City in financial difficulty.
